The world doesn’t hear about us

Commentary to results of research on image of Poland and Polish economy carried out by AGERON.

Poland virtually doesn’t exist on four out of nine key markets. Problem that Poland is facing is not bad image, it is lack of image – these are conclusions from research carried out among foreign entrepreneurs in 9 countries defined as key ones by the Ministry of Economy.
Foreign entrepreneurs are indifferent towards Poland. In case of China this is true about almost all of the surveyed (97%), in the Netherlands, France or the USA – around half. It surely doesn’t help Polish products, on the other hand – because there is not much of negative opinion, it is easy to build a positive image of Poland. Unfortunately neutral attitude translates to trade relations. We are not perceived as attractive business partner in the world. We are not mentioned among five most important countries by companies from China, the Netherlands, Russia and the USA. In Italy Poland is indicated by every seventh, in Germany by every tenths and in France by every fifteenth entrepreneur.
– Foreign entrepreneurs hardly notice promotional activities of Poland. They estimate their knowledge about our economy at a low level, they get information rarely or very rarely – says Michal Zielinski, managing director of Ageron Polska, which did research for the Ministry of Economy.
