American entrepreneurs? trade mission to Lubuskie region
On behalf of the Marshal Office of the Lubuskie Voivodeship in Zielona Gora and Investor and Exporter Assistance Centre we organized a trade mission of American entrepreneurs in the Lubuskie region. The mission took place on September 21-25 and was a huge success.
Representatives of eight import and distribution companies of food products and alcoholic beverages visited Poland in September. The companies represented by American guests are the leading companies supplying individual shops, trade networks and Polish shops in the United States. The entrepreneurs were interested mostly in local products and wines.
The programme of the mission was varied and interesting to American guests. On the first day they participated in a conference on economic cooperation between Poland and the US. Experts from Polish Agency of Information and Foreign Investment, Polish Insitute of International Affairs and Organization of Employers in Ziemia Lubuska as well as representatives of The Marshal’s Office of Lubuskie Voivodeship and Agriculture and Trade Market in Zielona Gora pronounced their speeches. As for the audience, there were not only American guests, but also local entrepreneurs and representatives of business environment insitutions interested in strengthening cooperation between Poland and the US. In total, more than 50 people. After the conference, the Americans met with local producers at business meetings. Among the latter we had the opportunity to gather both small, family companies operating on a local scale as well as large companies experienced in export. The meetings were so popular and interesting to both parties that we had to prolong the B2B session for two more hours.
In the next two days the Americans visited local plants and science and technology parks. They had the opportunity to get to know the economic potential and inovativeness of the region. The guests visited Agriculture and Trade Market in Zielona Gora, a production unit of confectionery manufacturer (wafers and sweets), pasta manufacturer and two local vineyards. They were impressed with both the quality of Polish products and high standards of the production process. On the last day they visited regional science and technology parks: Centre of Innovation and Agro-technical Solution in Lubuskie, Science and Technology Park of University of Zielona Gora and Gotech Centre.
The American guest were enormously impressed with the innovativeness of the regional centres. The mission changed completely the image of Polish economy and products they used to have ? they recognized the Polish quality and opportunities for business development offered by our country.
Poland and Algeria – strong partners in business
?In 2015, the trade between Poland and Algeria will exceed 1 billion dollars, 90% of which will consist of our export? ? said the vice president in Algeria to the journalists ? the Minister of Economy Janusz Piechoci?ski, who visited Algeria in March with the economic mission.
Last year, the trade between Poland and Algeria almost doubled and exceeded 736 million dollar. The relations between Polish and Algerian entrepreneurs play a significant role here. Polish engineers and technicians built Algerian infrastructure, and Polish universities educated thousands of Algerian students. We are happy that Polish-Algerian collaboration develops and tightens thanks trade missions of Algerians to Poland.
The trade mission of Algerian entrepreneurs in May, organized on behalf of West Pomeranian Voivodeship is intended to establish collaboration between West Pomeranian export companies and foreign entrepreneurs and institutions.
Algerian entrepreneurs, journalists working for special economic press, the representatives of Trade and Investment Section of Polish Embassy in Alger will take part in the four-day event.
The trade mission will involve the following elements:
- B2B sessions,
- Seminars:
- Economic potential of West Pomeranian Voivodeship with regard to its advantages for foreign companies and institutions,
- The investors and Exporters Service Center project that supports the economic collaboration development,
- Support instruments for the entrepreneurs in Poland,
- Characteristics of Polish companies/institutions that take part in the event and their presentation,
- Cultural differences between both countries.

One of the measures run by AGERON Polska was the annual General Programme of Promotion in Algeria introduced on behalf of the Ministry of Economy.
On the basis of the analysis conducted by the experts, Algeria, together with four other markets, was selected to be the most promising market to develop Polish export. The markets were selected on the basis of the criterion of GDP growth dynamics, import and internal security growth dynamics.
The programme activated the trade between Polish and Algerian partners, contributed to implementation of the series of promotional measures that involved: participation in trades and economic missions, matchmaking meetings, study tours in producers? organizations together with general promotional campaign of Polish economy in Algerian media.
Polish companies from automotive, medical, construction, agricultural machines, food and public works branches benefited from the funds for the participation in trades and economic missions.
Additionally, the delegation interested in the cooperation with Polish agricultural and food industries from Algeria visited the trades: AGROTECH in Kielce and POLAGRA in Poznan.
One of the Clients of AGERON Polska operates actively on Algerian market. It is a leader in the sector of car fragrances and car cosmetics. For this company, we organized a participation in EQUIP AUTO in Alger. We arranged B2B meetings with potential partners on this market and provided exhibition area, stand building services, logistics and transportation of the exhibits.
For Algerian entrepreneurs from food and furniture sectors, we organized an inbound mission to Mazovia. The agenda of this four-day event for ten companies interested in cooperation with Polish partners, was full of B2B meetings with guests from Algeria and over 20 selected Mazovian producer. The Algerian companies were interested particularly in Polish fruits, confectionary, furniture and fittings.
The mission involved a visit at Warsaw build 2014 Trades, where the companies met further potential partners.
The second part of the group took part in a study visit to the plant near Radom and Warka, where the Algerians had a chance to experience the export potential of Polish milk, fruit and processing sectors. Apart from the official part, we presented the tourist attractions of Warsaw and Mazovia and demonstrated our regional cuisine.
We hope thet the collaboration between Poland and Algeria will thrive in the future.
Economic mission for Brazilian entrepreneurs at Medica 2014 fair in D’sseldorf
On behalf of one of Brazilian associations for medical equipment manufacturers, we organized a trade mission that took place during the biggest in Europe trade show for medical equipment (November 12-15, 2014).
Six Brazilian companies – producers of special medical equipment, as well as importers and distributors – took part in the trade mission organized by international promotion team of AGERON Polska. We have analyzed the profiles of the companies that took part in the event. Having that, we were able to select most promising potential business partners. On the whole, we scheduled 71 business meetings for 5 days of the trade show.
We hope that new business contacts made at the trades will lead to further cooperation with our new Client. We are looking forward to next, equally successful projects.
Algerian entrepreneurs commercial mission to Mazovia region
For our Client, a regional public institution, we organized a trade mission of several Algerian companies from the food and furniture sectors to Mazovia.
The mission lasted four days and was attended by ten entrepreneurs interested in establishing cooperation with Polish partners and buying Polish products. During the mission, we organized B2B meetings, which were attended by guests from Algeria, and more than twenty selected by us manufacturers of Mazovia. Algerians were particularly interested in Polish fruits, confectionery product, furniture and fittings.
We also ensured their participation in the International Fair of Construction and Interior Design “Warsaw Build 2014″, where they met new potential partners. Part of the group also went on a study visit to factories near Radom and Warka, where the entrepreneurs discovered export potential of the dairy, fruit and processing industry. Apart from the official schedule, our guests had an opportunity to discover main tourist attractions of Warsaw and Mazovia region and savor regional cuisine specialties.
The mission took place in September 2014.
Cross-Innovation. Internationalization of SME from Warsaw
THE CITY OF WARSAW
Cross-Innovation is a process of merging companies from creative sector and those from traditional sectors. In order to share knowledge and know-how. It enables creating added value, new products and business processes that enrich the expertise of both companies. The example being the cooperation of the producer of nanotechnology impregnates for car body and architect office that resulted in patenting new substance for architecture and sculpture artifacts. Both companies may now start expand into new markets with their brand-new and innovative product.
International expansion is mentioned not by chance. Ageron Polska run the European phase of Cross-Innovation project that was devoted to internationalize Warsaw entrepreneurs wanting to start a cross-sector cooperate with companies from other partner cities such as: Birmingham, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Pilzno, Tallinn, Vilnius, Berlin and Linz. The project involved the following branches:
- ICT
- Nanotechnology
- Biotechnology
- Video games and mobile applications,
- Energy sector and green-tech
- Design (industrial pattern-designing, fashion, computer graphics, 3D design and production)
- Multimedia
- Social media and internet
- Medical sector (health care and medical equipment)
…and many other, as about 120 from 11 markets of European Union companies took part in the project.
Ageron Polska, acting as a broker of innovation and cross-sector cooperation, completed the following measures:
- Analysis of innovative and export potential of Warsaw SME and selection of the most interesting companies for further internationalization
- Matchmaking for Warsaw companies with the companies from other partner cities completed by organizing a B2B session in Berlin and signing the cooperation declaration by Warsaw SME and companies from Stockholm, Berlin and Vilnius
- Workshop on cross-sector innovative cooperation for Life Science sectors at Berlin Innovation Interface Event
- Developing a recommendation for economic development policy makers of the City of Warsaw in respect of international perspective in Warsaw entrepreneurs activity (part of strategic document CrossInnovation Warsaw Implementation Plan)
- Workshops, consultations and consulting for Warsaw SME in the scope of international expansion
- Representing Warsaw at events in Stockholm (September 2013) and Birmingham (June 2014) – presentation on the role of internationalization in municipal programs of support for innovative sectors

Sector Promotion Programme of Medical Device and Measuring Equipment Industry
Consortium of AGERON Polska and World Expo International is implementing a three-year Sector Promotion Programme of Medical Device and Measuring Equipment Industry. The project is subsidised from the Ministry of Economy funds as a part of 6.5.1 sub-measure of Operational Programme Innovative Economy.
Sector Promotion Programme is aimed at creating positive image of Polish economy brand abroad, developing new international contacts by entrepreneurs, promoting Polish firms from medical device and measuring equipment sectors as well as increasing export to selected markets i.e.:
- Germany,
- Russia,
- United States,
- Brazil,
- United Arab Emirates.
Promotion activities include participation in international and national trade missions, trainings, conferences and matchmaking meetings. Entrepreneurs taking part in the Programme may be granted a refund of up to 75% of eligible costs. So far 24 companies from medical device and measuring equipment sectors have joined the Programme that gives them an opportunity to promote their business on 27 promotional events.
Polish Economy Promotion Programme in Algeria
Polish Ministry of Economy, 2013
Poland, aiming at strenghtening and developing its position on international markets, is actively searching for new directions of ecomic cooperation and trade exchange. Polish enterprises focus among others on African, Asian and American developing markets.
Ministry of Economy decided to commission a system project “Polish Economy Promotion on International Markets” aiming at increasing global significance of Polish exporting companies.
Promotion of Polish Economy Brand currently runs two ways. Sectorial promotion programmes are addressed to key Polish growth sectors and general promotion programmes focus on selected markets, most perspective for Polish economy.
Basing on expert analysis, 5 extraeuropean markets most attractive for development of Polish export have been identified, basing among others on such criteria as GDP growth dynamics, import development trends and level of internal security and investment climate. The choice fell on Algeria, Brasil, Canada, Kazakhstan and Turkey.
The following strengths of the Algerian market have been noticed:
- stable financial reserves and recent launch of big governmental programmes developing country’s infrastructure;
- high growth of export despite global economic crisis;
- high growth of import – 197% in last 5 years.
Promotion programme in Algeria comprised in 2013 of following activities: participation in trade fairs and economic misssions, b2b meetings, study-tour of manufacturers’ organisation. The programme was supported with image promotion of Polish economy in Algerian media.
Polish entrepreneurs from following sectors benefitted from reimbursment of participation costs in events included in the programme:
- automotive
- medical
- construction
- agricultural machinery
- food&beverages
- public works
Research and promotion of Ecuadorian products
Ecuador Export and Investment Promotion Agency (CORPEI) 2008
Project was carried out in 3 phases.
The first stage of research was carried out among commercial chains in France, UK, Sweden, Italy, Spain and Germany. In-depth interviews were mainly directed at diagnosing introduction of Ecuadorian products – above all food products, but also furniture, textiles and flowers. Based on this research strategy was formulated how to introduce Ecuadorian products to European chains. Client received database of direct contacts to suitable buyers.
The second stage consisted of researching possibility of distributing Ecuadorian products in the European Union using logistic platform 3PL (Third Party Logistics) – where one or more logistic functions are outsourced to external company. Typical functions which can be outsourced include transport, customs and loading consolidation, storage, contract storage, fulfilling orders, distribution and transport management. Research was carried out using method of interviews in German, Dutch and Italian ports.
The third stage included benchmarking mission of 10 Ecuadorian enterprises from the food industry in Poland and Czech Republic. Ecuadorian entrepreneurs met with Polish importers at the IFE Poland fairs in Warsaw and paid study visit to Czech chain markets, visiting among others TESCO’s warehouses.
Economic Missions of Spanish Producers from the food sector
Spanish Federation of Food and Beverages Producers (FIAB)
Over a couple of years we prepared a series of economic missions for Spanish food producers, including producers of olive oil, olives, wine, dairy products, meat and others. Missions were organized among others in Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Sweden and Baltic states. The main aim of the project was identification of business partners on a given market and organizing agenda of meetings. What is more, whole logistics for the economic mission was organized for the clients.
