Polish Economy Promotion Programme in Algeria

Poland, aiming at strenghtening and developing its position on international markets, is actively searching for new directions of ecomic cooperation and trade exchange. Polish enterprises focus among others on African, Asian and American developing markets.

Ministry of Economy decided to commission a system project “Polish Economy Promotion on International Markets” aiming at increasing global significance of Polish exporting companies.

Promotion of Polish Economy Brand currently runs two ways. Sectorial promotion programmes are addressed to key Polish growth sectors and general promotion programmes focus on selected markets, most perspective for Polish economy. 

Basing on expert analysis, 5 extraeuropean markets most attractive for development of Polish export have been identified, basing among others on such criteria as GDP growth dynamics, import development trends and level of internal security and investment climate. The choice fell on Algeria, Brasil, Canada, Kazakhstan and Turkey.

The following strengths of the Algerian market have been noticed:

  • stable financial reserves and recent launch of big governmental programmes developing country’s infrastructure;
  • high growth of export despite global economic crisis;
  • high growth of import – 197% in last 5 years.

Promotion programme in Algeria comprised in 2013 of following activities: participation in trade fairs and economic misssions, b2b meetings, study-tour of manufacturers’ organisation. The programme was supported with image promotion of Polish economy in Algerian media.

Polish entrepreneurs from following sectors benefitted from reimbursment of participation costs in events included in the programme:
